Uniden Voice for Farming

The office is empty from dawn until dark.

A farm office is a room somebody visits at night. Every call that arrives during the working day reaches a desk with nobody at it, while you are on a tractor eight kilometres away.

The bit nobody counts

An empty office is a business decision you never made

Nobody chose to leave the farm phone unanswered. It happened because the work is outside and the phone is inside, and that gap costs you sales, timing and animal welfare outcomes.

1Livestock and grain decisions have deadlines. Sales close, trucks are booked, and windows shut. A callback tomorrow is often worthless.
2Animal health calls are genuinely urgent. A vet trying to reach you about a herd problem cannot be left waiting until dinner time.
3Suppliers and contractors move on. A machinery dealer with the part you need, or a contractor with a free day, will not ring twice.
Six things every farmer says out loud

You have said at least four of these this month

These are not phone problems. They are the consequence of the work being outdoors and the phone being indoors.

01

The work and the phone are in different places

You are outside all day. The phone is inside all day. Nobody designed that, it just happened.

The agent answers wherever you are, and the app follows you.
02

Machinery is too loud to hear a phone

Between the tractor, the header and hearing protection, a ringing mobile is inaudible.

Nothing depends on you hearing it any more.
03

Urgent and routine sound identical

A vet with a herd problem and a rep selling fertiliser both ring the same number the same way.

The agent triages, so only the urgent ones interrupt you.
04

Family answer the phone

Somebody's partner or teenager ends up taking business messages, which is unfair and unreliable.

Nobody in the house has to take a message ever again.
05

Nothing gets written down

Sale terms, vet advice and delivery times all agreed verbally and half remembered.

Every call recorded, transcribed and summarised.
06

Seasonal peaks are unmanageable

During sowing and harvest, call volume multiplies and available attention does not.

Capacity that scales with the season instead of with your hours.
Watch one of them get handled

10:45am. Nobody is in the office. The vet gets through.

This is the call that used to ring out into an empty room. Here it is being answered by a Uniden Voice AI phone agent, in an Australian accent, from what you told it about your farm.

It sounds like it is from here. Genuine Australian voices, which matters to agents, vets and contractors.
It knows your operation. Stock, paddocks, who your regular suppliers are, and what you consider urgent.
It triages before it interrupts you. A vet gets put through. A fertiliser rep gets a message taken.
It captures the detail. Recorded and transcribed, so advice and terms are not reconstructed from memory.

AgentGood morning, thanks for calling Wattlebank. How can I help?
VetIt is the vet returning a call about the cattle in the north paddock. There were a few showing signs of illness.
AgentThank you, that is an animal health matter so I will try to put you straight through. Before I do, is there anything you need him to have ready?
VetJust how many are affected and whether they have been moved.
AgentUnderstood. Connecting you to his mobile now. If he cannot pick up in the next thirty seconds I will take the details and get him to call you straight back.
VetThat is fine, thanks.
AgentConnecting now, and I have logged this as an animal health call so it is on the record either way.
What happened while the office was empty
  • Vet answered immediately instead of ringing out
  • Recognised as animal health and prioritised for a live transfer
  • Told what the farmer would need to have ready
  • Logged and recorded, whether or not the transfer connected
One number, wherever you are

A vet and a fertiliser rep should not get the same treatment

Publish one number. Behind it, urgent animal health and market calls reach you in the paddock, and everything else is handled and waits.

Seasonal peaks

Sowing and harvest do not wait for you to be near a phone

Farm call volume follows the season. Sowing, shearing, calving and harvest all produce concentrated bursts of calls, in the weeks you are outside from dawn until dark.

An AI agent answers everything through those weeks, triages what is urgent, and makes sure a vet or a buyer never reaches an empty office at the moment it matters most.

Your phone should know who is calling before you do

Uniden Voice connects to more than a thousand apps and offers open APIs, so a call arrives with the agent, vet or supplier and their history attached rather than just a number.

01 · ON THE RING

Screen pops before you say hello

The caller's name, their history and their open job appear on the handset or in the app as it rings, so the first thing out of your mouth is their name and not "who am I speaking with".

02 · DURING THE CALL

Click to call from anywhere

Ring a supplier straight from the record in your farm management or accounting system, without ever typing a number. Fewer wrong numbers, and every call logged against the right file automatically.

03 · AFTER THE CALL

Notes that write themselves

Recording, transcript, AI summary and the next action land in your CRM or your shared drive. Nobody has to remember what was promised on a Friday afternoon.

Why Uniden, and not the other twelve

A brand that has been on Australian properties since 1966

Uniden has been making the communications gear in Australian farm vehicles for sixty years. Very few AI phone platforms understand rural reality, and almost none are Australian owned, hosted and supported.

Onshore, end to end

Designed and built in Australia, hosted in Australian datacentres, and supported by Australians you can actually get on the phone. Your customer conversations do not leave the country.

An accent that lands

The AI answers in a genuine Australian voice. It matters, because a caller who thinks they have reached an offshore call centre hangs up before you get the chance to help them.

Desk, pocket and back office

The EVOC2 desk handset where you want something solid to grab, plus real Uniden apps for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android. Same number, whether you are at a desk or on the tractor.

One provider, one bill

Keep your numbers including 1300 and 1800, and take the NBN connection from us too. Fewer vendors to chase when something goes wrong at the worst possible moment.

Straight answers

The questions farmers ask us first

How does this work with poor coverage?

The agent answers in the cloud, so the caller never hears a ringing tone just because you are out of range. The detail then reaches you by SMS and in the app as soon as you have signal.

For your own outbound calls the apps work over any data connection, including satellite internet and fixed wireless, so wherever you have property internet you have a phone.

Can a vet or an agent still get me directly?

Yes, and you set the rules. Animal health calls and market calls can be attempted as a live transfer to your mobile first, and only fall back to the agent taking details if you genuinely cannot pick up.

Everything else is handled without interrupting you at all.

Does it stop family taking business messages?

That is one of the most common reasons people move to this. The farm number stops being a household phone, so nobody's partner or teenager is fielding a livestock agent.

The business calls are answered properly and logged, and the house gets its phone back.

What happens when the AI cannot help?

It hands over, and you decide where. Any price negotiation, contract terms and anything about animal treatment can go straight through to a person, to a specific queue, or to a manager's mobile.

The caller is not asked to repeat themselves either. Whoever picks up gets the context the agent already gathered. Outside hours the agent takes the details, sends an SMS confirmation and queues the callback.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. Number portability is standard, including 1300 and 1800 numbers, so the number on your existing farm and business numbers and on years of Google results stays exactly as it is.

We port it across and plan the cutover around your hours, not ours.

What happens if the internet drops?

Calls keep flowing. The mobile app keeps working over 4G and 5G, so your people can answer on their handsets while a site connection is down, and call flows can be set to divert to mobiles automatically.

You can also take your NBN service from Uniden Voice, so the connection and the phone system are one provider with one support number, instead of two companies each suggesting the problem belongs to the other.

How long does it take to get running?

A single site can be live quickly, because the apps need no hardware and the handsets arrive ready to plug in. The part worth doing properly is the call flow and the AI agent's knowledge of your business, and we build that with you rather than handing you a manual.

Number porting is the one step with an external timeline, so we usually run your new setup alongside the old line until the port completes. You never trade a day without a phone.
