Uniden Voice for Translators

Your clients are in five timezones. Your phone keeps one set of hours.

Translation and interpreting work arrives from everywhere, at every hour, and often urgently. Your business hours overlap with a fraction of your market, and the rest reaches a voicemail in a language it may not speak.

The bit nobody counts

Urgent translation work is bought from whoever answers

Certified translations and interpreting bookings are almost always urgent, and urgency is the enemy of voicemail. The premium work goes to whoever picks up.

1Deadlines are legal, not preferences. Visa lodgements, court dates and tender submissions have fixed dates. Nobody waits for a callback.
2Your market never sleeps. Clients ring from other timezones at hours no Australian business is staffed for.
3Language pair questions are simple and constant. Do you do this pair, are you NAATI certified, how fast, how much. Answerable without you stopping work.
Six things every translator says out loud

You have said at least four of these this month

These are not phone problems. They are the problem of a global market and a single set of local hours.

01

Your clients ring at 3am

Not out of rudeness. It is the middle of their afternoon, and they need something before their deadline.

The agent answers in Australian business hours and in every other hour too.
02

Precision work cannot be interrupted

Certified translation demands total attention. Every phone call costs more than its duration.

The agent handles the enquiry so you stay in the document.
03

The same four questions, endlessly

Which pairs, are you certified, what is the turnaround, what does it cost.

Answered instantly from your own service list and rate card.
04

Interpreting bookings are time and place specific

A booking needs date, time, location, language, dialect and setting. Get one wrong and the job fails.

The complete booking checklist run on every call, and read back.
05

Deadline urgency gets mis assessed

"Urgent" means different things. A visa lodgement tomorrow and a nice to have next month are not the same.

The agent asks for the actual deadline and prices accordingly.
06

Personal mobile, international business

Your own number becomes a 24 hour line with no boundary at all.

A business number with hours, and an agent covering the rest.
Watch one of them get saved

3:20am. You are asleep. The certified job is booked.

This is the call that used to ring out overnight. Here it is being answered by a Uniden Voice AI phone agent, in an Australian accent, from what you told it about your practice.

It sounds like it is from here. Genuine Australian voices, clear and easy to follow for callers whose first language is not English.
It knows your pairs and credentials. Which languages, which certifications, turnaround times and rates.
It captures the real deadline. Because in this work the deadline determines both the price and whether you take it.
It runs the full booking checklist. Date, time, location, language, dialect and setting, read back before it confirms.

Demand peaks

Visa, enrolment and tender deadlines all cluster

Translation demand follows other people's deadlines. Visa processing rounds, university enrolment periods and tender closing dates create concentrated bursts of urgent work.

An AI agent answers every one of those bursts, at any hour and from any timezone, quotes them correctly, and starts the work moving before you are even awake.

Your phone should know which client is calling

Uniden Voice connects to more than a thousand apps and offers open APIs, so a call arrives with the client and their job history attached rather than just a number.

01 · ON THE RING

Screen pops before you say hello

The caller's name, their history and their open job appear on the handset or in the app as it rings, so the first thing out of your mouth is their name and not "who am I speaking with".

02 · DURING THE CALL

Click to call from anywhere

Ring a client straight from the record in your job or invoicing system, without ever typing a number. Fewer wrong numbers, and every call logged against the right file automatically.

03 · AFTER THE CALL

Notes that write themselves

Recording, transcript, AI summary and the next action land in your CRM or your shared drive. Nobody has to remember what was promised on a Friday afternoon.

Why Uniden, and not the other twelve

An Australian platform for a practice that serves the world from here

Plenty of platforms will sell you AI. Very few are Australian owned, hosted and supported, and almost none come from a brand Australians have known since 1966.

Onshore, end to end

Designed and built in Australia, hosted in Australian datacentres, and supported by Australians you can actually get on the phone. Your customer conversations do not leave the country.

An accent that lands

The AI answers in a genuine Australian voice. It matters, because a caller who thinks they have reached an offshore call centre hangs up before you get the chance to help them.

Desk, pocket and back office

The EVOC2 desk handset where you want something solid to grab, plus real Uniden apps for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android. Same number, whether you are at a desk or working overnight.

One provider, one bill

Keep your numbers including 1300 and 1800, and take the NBN connection from us too. Fewer vendors to chase when something goes wrong at the worst possible moment.

Straight answers

The questions translators ask us first

Can the agent handle callers with limited English?

It speaks clearly, at a measured pace, and it does not use idiom, which makes it easier to follow than most rushed human receptionists. It also confirms key details back, which catches misunderstandings.

It is honest about what it is not: it does not interpret. For callers who genuinely cannot proceed in English, it captures the number and the language needed so you can call back appropriately.

Can it quote certified work accurately?

Yes, from your own rate card. Per page, per document type, per language pair, with your expedited loadings applied when the deadline requires it.

It also sends the secure upload link on the call, so the work can start before you have spoken to anyone.

Can it take an interpreting booking properly?

This is where it is strongest, because interpreting bookings are a checklist and checklists are what it never gets wrong. Date, time, duration, location, language, dialect, setting and who to ask for on arrival.

Everything is read back before it confirms, which is where most booking failures actually originate.

What happens when the AI cannot help?

It hands over, and you decide where. Anything requiring interpretation, plus complaints and complex quotes can go straight through to a person, to a specific queue, or to a manager's mobile.

The caller is not asked to repeat themselves either. Whoever picks up gets the context the agent already gathered. Outside hours the agent takes the details, sends an SMS confirmation and queues the callback.

Do I have to change my phone number?

No. Number portability is standard, including 1300 and 1800 numbers, so the number on your website, your certifications and your directory listings and on years of Google results stays exactly as it is.

We port it across and plan the cutover around your hours, not ours.

What happens if the internet drops?

Calls keep flowing. The mobile app keeps working over 4G and 5G, so your people can answer on their handsets while a site connection is down, and call flows can be set to divert to mobiles automatically.

You can also take your NBN service from Uniden Voice, so the connection and the phone system are one provider with one support number, instead of two companies each suggesting the problem belongs to the other.

How long does it take to get running?

A single site can be live quickly, because the apps need no hardware and the handsets arrive ready to plug in. The part worth doing properly is the call flow and the AI agent's knowledge of your business, and we build that with you rather than handing you a manual.

Number porting is the one step with an external timeline, so we usually run your new setup alongside the old line until the port completes. You never trade a day without a phone.
